Construction takes place on on the various internal maps of the of the overmap.Though building will only be active once you have control of more than half of the land units of a province, players can place various structures(housing, commercial, industrial, public service) while free market economies can zone areas of the map for these to be built by the individual populations.

Buildings are divided into categories and then subdivided. Housing will be economically divided; hovels for poor/serfs, luxury mansions for the rich.

Commercial buildings will be available based on resources. Trade buildings will deal in imports, food markets to distribute food, etc.
